Our Impact: April 2020 - November 2020
What a year we've had! We've all been affected by Coronavirus, but so many volunteers, individuals, faith and community groups, organisations and businesses have put the challenges they have faced aside to support us.
The donations we have received whether food, furniture, bedding, financial donations, raising funds by making and selling face masks, and so much more has meant we have been able to continue accommodating and supporting people who otherwise would be homeless.
During this period:
We’ve doubled our available accommodation
Before lockdown we had four ORL Homes, allowing us to provide accommodation for up to 12 individuals. We’ve now doubled this and have eight ORL Homes providing accommodation for up to 28 individuals!
We’ve supported 38 clients
25 clients have been provided with accommodation and support in an ORL Home, equating to over 3500 nights of accommodation.
7 ORL Home residents have no income, and are therefore given a compassionate bed and a weekly payment.
7 residents who were living in an ORL Home have moved on to other accommodation including private rented sector or reunited with their family.
18 individuals who we supported were not eligible for benefits or social housing.
13 individuals have been given support to rebuild their lives off the streets.
10 EU resettlement scheme applications have been successful – entitling these individuals to claim benefits and apply for social housing.
We’ve delivered over 1000 food parcels to 42 individuals
Weekly food parcels include eggs, meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, non-perishable food e.g. pasta, tinned food, cereal, biscuits, tea/coffee and sugar.
Thank you for your continued support - it means so much to us and all the individuals we support.
