Supporting a resident to create their forever home, by ensuring it is fully furnished, decorated, and cleaned before they move in.
We support individuals who have secured a permanent home by preparing the property and assisting with the move.
We want to create a home for every individual who moves, so they have a better chance of succeeding with independent living.
We work hard to support residents to secure permanent accommodation. However, moving is difficult and much harder when offered an empty flat, which requires decorating, cleaning and furnishing. We aim to help our residents with everything they need to create a home, this includes new carpets, white goods, bed and bedding, cutlery and crockery.
Once the resident moves, we support them while they settle into their new home. We help them set up their utilities, register with a GP, and ensure all relevant agencies they are working with are informed of the change of address. We also assist with life skills, including budgeting, to ensure they can maintain their new tenancy.
Volunteers help decorate, clean and donate items to help prepare the new home. Grants enable us to purchase larger white goods and carpets.
